By default, passwords do not expire, and all passwords for SecureVideo account holders must:

  • is at least 8 characters long
  • contains at least 1 uppercase letter
  • contains at least 1 lowercase letter
  • contains at least 1 number
  • contains at least 1 of the following special characters: !, @, #, $, &, or *

This support article goes over how an Account Administrator (Individual account holders are admins of their own accounts) can edit the password policy on the account to set passwords to expire after a certain number of days, or set the character length higher than 8 characters.

Answer

1. Click on the Profile icon in the upper right-hand corner, and select "My Account" from the dropdown menu.

Profile menu; "My Account" is the third option down

2. Underneath "Account Settings", click "Edit".

3. Enter a new value for the password length and/or how many days until users are forced to change their passwords.

  • New password length requirement will be applied to any new passwords created (for new users, or for users changing their passwords). Already-existing users will not be required to change their passwords unless they reset their passwords, or their password expires.
    • The new password length cannot be less than 8 characters.
  • The timer for "Expire Passwords After Days" starts counting down immediately. Once this feature is enabled, users will not be allowed to re-use old passwords either.
